Our “Play Pals” group is designed for 3-5 year old children who would benefit from a small group setting for developing important speech-language and social skills. Using play-based therapy, children improve the following skills:
Regulation of Emotions
Flexibility in one’s thoughts and understanding of another’s point of view
Turn Taking Abilities through structure cooperative play
Expanding expressive language to navigate through play
Play Pals meet on Saturday mornings from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Groups form continuously.
Small groups of six children or less provide a happy and secure environment where children are respected and nurtured. Our specialty is working with children who have been identified as:
Delayed receptive/expressive language or Distracted
Anxious or Obsessive
These seemingly different traits often make it difficult to make friends and play cooperatively. The approach used at PCCD can help.
